Rune Warden
Role: Magic Tank
Description: Guardians of the ancient rune towers, Rune Wardens draw power from the arcane symbols etched into their armor and weapons. They aim to restore balance to the Aether and prevent further magical catastrophes. Trained in defensive mana by Arkan, Rune Wardens specialize in defending and holding territory.

- Skills: Choose two from Arcana, Athletics, History, Insight, Perception, and Religion
- Spellcasting Ability: Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your Rune Warden features. You use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a feature or when a feature refers to your spellcasting ability.
- Rune Save DC: 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Rune Shield

Action: Reaction (triggered when you or an ally within 10 feet is hit by an attack)

Effect: A shimmering magical barrier appears, reducing the damage by 1d10 + your Wisdom modifier.

Scaling: The damage reduction increases to 2d10 at 7th level and 3d10 at 15th level.

Arcane Strike

Effect: You infuse your weapon with elemental energy. Choose one damage type: fire, cold, lightning, or acid. Your next melee weapon attack deals an additional 1d8 damage of the chosen type.

Scaling: This damage increases to 2d8 at 5th level, 3d8 at 11th level, and 4d8 at 17th level.

Uses: You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per long rest.
Runic Binding

Effect: You conjure glowing magical chains to restrain a creature within 30 feet. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (against your Rune Save DC) or be restrained for up to 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

Uses: You can use this Action 2 times per long rest. This increases to 3 times at 10th level and 4 times at 15th level.
Rune Insight(Level 2)
You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill. If you are already proficient, you may choose another skill from the Rune Warden skill list. You also have advantage on checks to identify magical effects.
Ability Score Increase(Level 4, 8, 12, 16, 19)
You can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can`t increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Improved Arcane Strike(Level 5)
Your Arcane Strike damage increases to 2d8.
Ward of Renewal(Level 6)

Effect: You create a shimmering ward in a 10-foot radius centered on a point you choose within 30 feet. Allies who start their turn in the ward regain 1d6 hit points.

Scaling: The healing increases to 2d6 at 11th level (see Empowered Wards) and 4d6 at 17th level (see Supreme Ward).

Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute.

Enhanced Rune Shield(Level 7)
Your Rune Shield`s damage reduction increases to 2d10.
Runic Defense(Level 9)
While you are conscious, allies within 10 feet of you gain a +1 bonus to their AC.
Greater Binding(Level 10)
You can target up to two creatures simultaneously when you use your Runic Binding feature. You also gain one additional use of Runic Binding.
Empowered Wards(Level 11)
The healing from your Ward of Renewal increases to 2d6.
Improved Arcane Strike(Level 11)
Your Arcane Strike damage increases to 3d8.
Ward Amplification(Level 14)
Allies in your Ward of Renewal radius also gain temporary hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1) at the start of their turn.
Legendary Rune Shield(Level 15)
Your Rune Shield`s damage reduction increases to 3d10. Additionally, when you use Rune Shield, you can apply the damage reduction to all allies (excluding yourself) within 10 feet of the original target.
Supreme Arcane Strike(Level 17)
Your Arcane Strike damage increases to 4d8.
Supreme Ward(Level 17)
The healing from your Ward of Renewal increases to 4d6.
Eternal Wards(Level 18)
Your Ward of Renewal no longer requires concentration.
Master of Runes(Level 20)
You have mastered the runic symbols of power. Your Rune Shield, Arcane Strike, and Ward of Renewal features no longer expend a use. You can use Runic Binding an unlimited number of times.
